Animal can feel it before it starts to rain.
Animal can sense it, the clouds are gathering.

Animal can feel it after the raging storm comes a bright new day.
Animal can sense it, into the wild green lands where they thrive and play.

Animal can feel the danger, life inside incarceration.
Sticks and stones will break their bones and nameless they all die.

Can we look in their eyes?
Can we look in their eyes?
And call ourselves humane?

Animal.

Until that time I gotta voice for animal.

Animal can dream, dream of the scented breeze under a sunny sky.
Animal can sense it, feel peace of mind with space enough to seem alive.
Animal feel torn and lonely its mate and child just trauma memories.
Smell the blood upon the floor, machines they start to…

Can we look in their eyes?
Can we look in their eyes?
And call ourselves humane?

Animal
Animal
Animal
Animal
Animal.

Until that time gotta voice for animal.
Until that time gotta voice for animal.
Animal.
Until that time I gotta voice for animal.
Animal.
Until that time I gotta voice for animal.

ABOUT VOICE FOR ANIMAL

I decided several years back to become a vegan for ethical, environmental and health reasons. I have never looked back.

Animals are treated like slaves and tortured in the same way humans can be – greed, ignorance, the ego-mindset. Whilst pets are revered, the farm animal destined for meat production or enforced, excessive milking is just an object for consumption. This can be changed if people start to question what they are living for. With few geographically determined exceptions (e.g. Tibet, Eskimos), I believe, meat (or dairy) is not needed in diet for healthy nutrition. We are frequently fed lies by lobbyists in the food industry and their paid “scientific” experts.

The scientific proof is out there that animal protein increases vulnerability to illnesses, including cancer. Animal saturated fats are a major contributor to killer no. 1. heart disease. etc. etc:

Vegan Research and Debate Links

The Earth cannot sustain human beings with their level of meat and dairy consumption. Going vegetarian, vegan or reducing levels of animal protein down to an absolute minimum is one of the essential ways to avoid tragedy and misery in the future.

CHILD IN THE FUTURE

Simple desires of a child in the future

I wanna live in a house with some normality – in the future
Where people share in a world not scared to strive for solidarity
Sometimes I wanna live with no electricity – a reminder
Machines stand still, a bitter pill but maybe the world will start to heal

I wanna live in a world where the technology – in the future
Takes its place in a smaller space – senses tuned to the cry of Nature
I wanna live in a world where the technology – in the future
Is made with love, used with love to make the world a paradise

Simple desires of a child in the future – Yeah
Simple desires of a child in the future – Yeah
I’m a simple kind and simple times
Satisfy my simple mind
In a world gone blind we’ve gotta find
What’s happening to soul
Simple desires of a child in the future

I wanna live in a land with wise mentality – in the future
Hands reach out, smiles abound talking waves of a warmer sound
Wanna live in a world with right priorities – in the future
Things get done, for all as one – proof’s out there that it can be done

I wanna see beyond my own mortality – in the future
Sowing seeds for air to breathe, crossing new horizons
Wanna see beyond my own mortality – in the future
Death will come to everyone but how we lived is the final question

Simple desires of a child in the future – Yeah
Simple desires of a child in the future – Yeah
I’m a simple kind and simple times
Satisfy my simple mind
In a world gone blind we’ve gotta find
What’s happening to soul
I’m a simple kind and simple times
Satisfy my simple mind – Yeah – Yeah

I’m a simple kind and simple times
Satisfy my simple mind  rpt.

ABOUT CHILD IN THE FUTURE

Children are the future and need to be given hope. I am often reminded of this when I look at my guitar pupils or nieces. It’s never too late!

RIVER OF LOVE

© 2009 Matthew Checker

Born to be
in a colourful motion
Plain to see
There’s no time for commotion

When you gaze at the clouds you feel the now
While the water divides beneath the bow

Ever been on the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river

Green and gold
With the sunset approaching
Toucan calls
From the tree-top a coaxing

With the splash of a fish to catch your eye
There’s a flash of a wish to try to fly

Ever been on the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river of love, come on down
Sail along the river

Ba ba badap badap ba ba…

Born to be
in a colourful motion
Plain to see
There’s no time for commotion
Once you’ve been there you need to sing and shout
Cos you know what the fuss is all about

Ever been………..

ABOUT RIVER OF LOVE

During and shortly after my university years, where I was fortunate enough to study ecology, I was given the amazing opportunity  to take part in some ornithological expeditions to Central and South America. Two of these were in Ecuador where we tried to establish which of the remaining areas of a very threatened forest type (Ecuadorian dry forest) should be considered for conservation efforts. In these deciduous forests (leaves are shed in the dry season) there are many equally threatened species of plants, birds and animals which exist nowhere else.

…..I am getting sidetracked, for that is another story (see About Matt Checker). I was deeply fascinated by this and other natural habitats I saw in Ecuador and the Amazonian area with its colours, sounds and extraordinary diversity was of course no exception. River of Love came out of my memories of the boat journey up one of the tributaries of the great Amazon River. Macaws, howler monkeys, sunlight glittering on the water – it was simply delicious!
